La Colina Jr High is at 4025 Foothill Road Santa Barbara 93111. if you are taking the freeway, take Highway 154 and get off at the first exit. take Foothill Road, going towards town. You do not need to go to the office in front!
If you have never been here, turn down the driveway, then turn right at the first driveway. This will take you to the large building, which is the auditorium. The first classroom you come to opposite the auditorium will be where we are located. We are happy to send you a map, if you want.
Clipboard check in and out. Be sure to say hello and good-bye to the holder(s) of the clipboard. When you are leaving, point out your driver!
On the first day, parents and carpools should let us know who we can release your cast member to !
Please bring the following: a sack lunch, a snack and a water bottle. The weather is changeable, so a sweater or sweatshirt is nice to have. Label all your belongings!
We will have a Lost and Found at the end of each day.
We will be give you a name tag to wear for a few days. Please wear it and try not to spin it like a helicopter!
You will be assigned a script, which should be brought to every rehearsal! There will be a number on it so that we can keep track of who it belongs to. This number will also be your costume number! There are many parts, so be prepared to do some try ons!
Please wear shoes that stay on your feet! Do not wear flip-flops or crocs to class.
We do not want any cell phones in sight. They can stay in your backpack and used, if necessary, at lunch time.
Find a few buddies to hang out with. We want to know where you are at all times. We use the buddy system, so when you need to use the restroom or go for a costume fitting, we expect you to go with a buddy. Always ask a helper or the director if it is alright to leave the group. We suggest that you wait until you are not needed in the scene, but if you cannot wait, hurry back! Do not leave your buddy alone, come back together.
A few lunch rules:
1. Stay where you can be seen!
2. Do not be too noisy! the office staff are still at work.
3. Find a new friend to sit with!
4. Pick uo all trash, even if it is not yours!
5. There will be several helpers sitting among you. They are there to assist you, watch your lunch if you forgot to use the restroom or need to go back to our room for a moment.
6. Some cast members may need to jog or play tag; do this closer to our room, not near the office.
We will have a sharing table at lunch because we see a lot of wasted food. Parents take note! Not all delicious food gets eaten!
Parents are welcome any time. You may watch rehearsal or come in to ask questions. Try not to distract to cast.
Remember that you and your children will not need tickets for the shows.
More about shows later.
